Erwin charged from the inside of the second row into the runner-up spot as the USA sprint cars charged into turn one as the green flag waved to start their 20 lap A main. When polesitter Dan Burk slipped high in turn two, Erwin grabbed the lead and never looked back. He quickly built his lead to a full straightaway within five laps. As Erwin ran away from the field in the Lake Kiowa.Com Nr. 5E, the battle raged for second. Erwin caught lapped traffic just before the race halfway point, but the driver on the move was Matt Clevenger. Erwin worked his way past slower cars while Clevenger, who started eighth, moved up to third, then second on the 14^th lap. Clevenger quickly cut Erwin’s lead pulling up on the leader’s rear bumper on the 18^th lap. The battle for the lead never materialized. Someone dropped some water on the race track in turn four. Rowdy Hull spun in the water, right in front of the leaders. Erwin got past, but Clevenger got caught in the water and spun. On the restart, Erwin charged away to take his third win with second place Ricky Summers ten car lengths back. Bob Ewell was third. Skip Wilson reclaimed the USA sprint car points lead with his fourth place finish, and Greg Young was fifth. George White, Summers and Wilson won the heats, Jerry Pinckard topped the dash.

The late models started their feature the same way they did last week, with a big multi-car crash. On the restart, Keith Darrow charged past the leader before the green flag waved. The penalty for jump cost him four positions. Since there was not another caution during the race, Darrow’s penalty was imposed after the end of the race, dropping him to fifth. Hronas and Tom Lorenz got past early leader Elliott Davis. For the rest of the race the pair battled, often side by side. Hronas held the faster line through turns three and four to keep the First State Bank of Mesquite / Performance Auto Supply Nr. 92 out front. Points leader Ronnie Long moved up to challenge for the lead just past the halfway point, but he spun on the 12^th lap. Losing only one position, Long finished third behind winner Hronas and Lorenz. Jimmy Quick, Jr. was fourth with Darrow fifth. Lorenz and Hronas won the heats.

Rowland started the Southwest Engines Nr. 41 on the outside of the fifth row as 24 USA modifieds took the green flag. Charles Lasater led the opening laps before the first yellow flew. Rowland avoided the early trouble and took the lead on the restart. Rowland built a comfortable lead while the cars behind raced two and three wide. A seventh lap caution brought the other cars up on Rowland’s rear bumper. Modified points leader Tom Lorenz took second on the restart and challenged Rowland, however, he could not find enough traction to take the lead. Despite a late race caution, Rowland had no trouble claiming his second win this year. He also earned the TimberWolf Hard Charger Award for passing nine cars en route to victory. Lorenz took second place, for the second time that night. Rick McCommas and Randy Kirkland were third and fourth after a very good battle with Marc Madison fifth. Jay Miller, Clyde Dunn, Jr. and Madison won the heat races.

A good run after an early caution helped Chuck Hall pull past Johnny Points to take the lead on the fourth lap of the street stock main. Hall pulled the Speed Pro Signs Nr. 7 from the outside of the fifth row to the lead. Once out front, he quickly built his lead to take the win easily with 15 car lengths between himself and second place Michael Murphy. Mike Walls, Ricky Wycough and Mike Meeks, Jr. rounded out the top five. Meeks, Frank Shafer and Richard Miller won the heat races. An early exit from the feature by points leader Thomas Weeks allowed Tim McManus to narrow the margin to just five points.
