Starnes Takes Modified Main at Devil's Bowl

 

 

 

 

Mesquite, TX (July 30) – Rowdy Starnes charged to the front and claimed the USA Modified feature win at Devil's Bowl Speedway Saturday night. Danny Zimmerman came back from last week's disappointing finish to win the street stock feature. Tom Lorenz topped the late models and Martin Edwards paced the super sprints flag to flag..

Next At Devil's Bowl

Dink's Notebook

Just 4 laps into the Late Model feature the bottom of turns 1 and 2 dried making for some interesting decisions on the drivers part as to which line to run.

Then 3 laps into the Sprint feature turns 1 and 2 were black top to bottom, not much passing from that point but made it fun to watch to see who might be the first to bobble there.

This seemed to be a week  to take it's toll on several engines in the Street Stocks and Modifieds, hope all the guys will be back next week.

It was great to have Larry Long driver of the 28 Sprinter at the track after his nasty crash last week.

It was an awesome feeling to see the camaraderie in Victory Lane between the 1st and 2nd place drivers as well as in the points chase in the Street Stock division, those guys were having fun and after all folks, that's what racing is all about.
