#77X Wayne Johnson Wayne Johnson came from the inside second row to lead the ASCS 25-lapper in a wild first lap. Johnson and outside front row starter Brian Brown battled for the lead through lapped traffic for half the race before Brown fell back.
Johnny Herrera came from the third row to take the second spot just past the halfway mark, with Gary Wright close behind. But the driver on the move was ninth starting Danny Lasoski, who moved past them into second on the 14th circuit. Lasoski got close to Johnson in lapped traffic in the late laps, but had to settle for the runner up spot ahead of Herrera and Jason Johnson who took the final lock in spot for Saturday's feature as Wright's car faltered in the final two laps. Wright, Klint Angelette, Logan Forler and Martin Edwards won the heats. Brad Loyett won the B main. Edwards was the only driver to get upside down, midway through the feature. He was unhappy, but uninjured.
